The
British Virgin Islands beguile visitors with their secret
harbors, pristine beaches and friendly people. Made up of
60 enchanted islands the British Virgin Islands (or BVI's
as they are better known as) are a world unto themselves.

Anegada
-- Was named by Christopher
Columbus the name means "Drowned Land". Anegada
is 10 miles long and lies approximately 20 nautical miles
northeast from the tip of Virgin Gorda. A leisurely 3 hour
sail from North Sound in Virgin Gorda and you will be there.
Once there you can relax on some of the most beautiful beaches
in the Caribbean. Cow Wreck Bay, Loblolly Bay and Flash
of Beauty are three of the more popular beaches there. Loblolly
and Cow Wreck feature beach bars and restaurants Flash of
Beauty is a quiet pristine white sandy beach lined with
palm trees. Around the exterior of the Island lie the world
famous Horseshoe Reef, stretching 18 miles long, making
it one of the world's largest coral reefs. Another attraction
on Anegada are the salt ponds which attract flocks of pink
flamingoes, osprey and kaloo birds.

Jost
Van Dyke -- Named
for an early Dutch settler reputed to have been a
pirate, this tiny island measures just four miles long and
three miles wide with the highest point at 1,054 feet. Life
on Jost Van Dyke is very laid back with several popular
beach bars and unspolied beaches making the yachtsmans "must
see list". Safe anchorages located in White Bay, Little
Harbor and Great Harbor allow crews and guests aboard their
private yachts to stay and visit some of the loca lwatering
holes like Foxy's Bar and Grill, Soggy Dollar bar home of
the original pain killer or Ivan's Stress Free Beach Bar.
The east end of the island is home to the Bubbling Pool
a jacuzzi formed by the foaming seas.
Popular
dive sites off Jost Van Dyke are the Playgorunds. comprised
of large rocks and coral heads make this dive site a great
place for viewing nurse sharks, manta rays, eagle rays and
tarpon. Twin Towers the other site gets its name from the
location of two large rock formations. A more difficult
dive due to swells tarpon and eagle rays can be seen hanging
around.
Tortola
-- the starting point for many
crewed yacht charter vacations, it is the largest of the
British Virgin Islands. The islands offers vacationers everything
they need before heading out on charter. Roadtown, Tortolas
main port is centrally located on the island here the islands
rich cultural heritage is on display in local shops where
you can buy almost anything from local spices, rums, and
jewelry to last minute items before your charter.
Virgin
Gorda -- The second
largest island in the chain, Virgin Gorda means "The
Fat Virgin". The island is famous for its yacht clubs,
quiet coves and safe anchorages. Along with countless sandy
white beaches and dive sites Virgin Gorda is also home to
the famous Baths a formation of huge granite boulders which
create rock pools, mysterious grottoes and deserted beaches.
You can also claim your own stretch of sand at one of the
many beaches that fringe the island - Savannah Bay, Pond
Bay or Devils Bay to name a few.
Norman
Island -- said to
be the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson's adventure
tale, Treasure Island, Norman Island is one of the most
visited islands in the British Virgin Island chain. For
yachtsman it offers several safe bays and offshore reefs.
Soldiers Bay, Money Bay and the Bight, one of the most protected
harbors in the BVI's. Along with a beautiful beach great
food and live entertainment are always available at Pirates
Bight Restaurant and the famous floating barge restaurant
and bar Willie-T's. Around the corner from the Bight is
one of the best snorkeling spots in the British Virgin Islands.
Here you can swim with an aquarium of tropical fish and
venture in the famous pirate caves where locals have actually
found pirate treasure. This is a must anchorage for anyone
who really wants to experience the true feeling of the BVI's.
Peter
Island -- an 1,800
acre island is home to the Peter Island Resort, a five star
retreat for the rich and famous. Only accessible by water
this island offers superb facilities for SCUBA divers and
fishermen. Whether you spend the day or over night Sprat
Bay and Deadmans Bay have everything you need -- quiet anchorage,
full service facilities with a restaurant, ice, SCUBA tank
refills and mooring balls. If you are in need of some exercise
hike the Loop, the dramatic bluff on the south side of the
island offers some spectacular views. Peter island is a
divers delight with many dive sites nearby ranging from
novice to advanced. Painted Walls, Blonde Rock, Carrot Shoal,
Coral Gardens and the famous Wreck of the RMS Rhone are
just a few of the more popular sites.

Cooper
Island
-- just five miles from Tortola but
a world apart. This small island is the perfect getaway.
It boasts only four privately owned properties and a small
beach club on Manchioneel Bay. On the southern end of the
bay is Cistern Rock a great snorkeling / shallow dive site.
A true tropical paradise where anyone can relax with its
pristine sandy white beach fringed by palm trees. For the
more active type snorkeling, diving, kayaking, fishing and
hiking are at your fingertips. There are several small local
shops including a dive shop and gift shop as well as a beach
front restaurant for your convenience.
